Examine the posterior aspect of the scrotum for ulceration and scars
Examine the perineum for scars and ulceration
Palpation
Tenderness
Temperature
consistency

yes :pure scrotal swelling
No :inguino-scrotal swelling (Inguinal hernia or varicocele)
?if it is pure scrotal swelling ,can i feel the testis separately
yes: epididmal cyst-encysted hydrocele of the cord(goes side by side but not up and down)
No:Hydrocele-haematocele -chylocele

positive cross -fluctuation and positive translumination test
